Victoria Binz is a dedicated Manager of Product Development at Dynamic Air Quality Solutions, overseeing the company’s Gas Phase Filtration Department. She joined Dynamic AQS in 2017 as a Product Development Engineer, focusing on the development of a patented, gas phase removal technology. Victoria is an active member of ASHRAE and serves on the leadership team for TC2.3 Gaseous Air Contaminants and Gas Contaminant Removal Equipment, as well as TRG4 Indoor Air Quality Procedure Development. Her involvement extends to ASHRAE committees, including ASHRAE Standard 62.1 Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality and ASHRAE Standard 145.2 Laboratory Test Method for Assessing the Performance of Gas-Phase Air-Cleaning Systems: Air-Cleaning Devices.
Indoor air quality has traditionally been maintained through prescribed outdoor air ventilation rates, such as those outlined in ASHRAE Standard 62.1. However, increasing wildfire events, urban pollution, and climate-driven environmental changes challenge the assumption that outdoor air is inherently clean. In these conditions, dilution alone is no longer sufficient without appropriate air treatment.
This presentation examines how modern mechanical filtration and gas-phase technologies—once limited to industrial or equipment protection applications—are now critical tools for protecting occupants, enabling alternative ventilation strategies, and reducing energy use associated with high outdoor air volumes. Attendees will learn how particulate and activated carbon systems can support decarbonization, sustainability, and building resilience objectives while maintaining occupant health and comfort in an increasingly polluted environment.
