Electric boilers and ASHP ("Hybrid Hydronic Systems") - Past Presidents Night

  • 3075 Slocan Street Vancouver, BC, V5M 3E4 Canada (map)

Sean Skiles has worked in the heat transfer sales & service, construction, and manufacturing industries for over 30 years and is currently the General Manager for Fulton Equipment Pacific, LLC located in Fresno, CA. with global headquarters in Pulaski, NY. He is a an ASHRAE past-president and currently serves as the Region X Historian.

This presentation explores the potential solution for reducing carbon emissions from hydronic heating plants by incorporating a mix of high-efficiency condensing boilers and zero emission technologies, such as electric resistance boilers and air source heat pumps. With proper control strategies, integrating an electric boiler or heat pump to handle the base load of the heating system can significantly reduce CO2 emissions, without the high costs associated with transitioning to a fully electric system. The course will also examine the advantages of a hybrid system, including improved reliability, cost savings, and enhanced system performance
