ASHRAE BC welcomes ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer, Devin Abellon to our March meeting. The integrity of the HVAC Industry is dependent on sound technical design, reliable products, skilled construction practise and consistent maintenance and operation. But another critical element that is sometimes overlooked is professional ethic. As members within the HVAC industry engineers contractors and vendors and building owners are expected to exhibit the highest standard of honesty and integrity to safeguard the confidence that the public has in us.In this competitive climate it can be tempting to “bend the rules”. But how much is too much? This presentation is an interactive, multimedia, dramatic presentation that explores issues through eyes of a well intentioned Engineer.
Devin Abellon is a Business development manager for Engineering Sciences at Uponor. He has over 25 years of experience in the HVAC/Plumbing industries focused on High Performance sustainable building design. He holds a Bachelor degree from USC at Santa Barbara and is a registered Engineer in California.. He is active in both ASPE and ASHRAE, serves on ASHRAE board of Directors. Chairs ASHRAE TC 6.5, and is on the Handbook subcommittee.
